Current Events

The Life Raft Group holds a number of events in support of finding a cure for GIST annually. By participating in these events, you can learn the most recent information and cutting-edge research advancements, network with fellow researchers and patients and help support our ongoing efforts in support of curing GIST.

We also attend and support a number of other events in support of not only GIST, but other types of cancer. If you would like LRG to attend a cancer-related event or would like to suggest events for us to participate in or attend, please contact us today.

Life Fest

At this unique biennial event, hundreds of patients and caregivers have the opportunity to gather for a weekend of camaraderie and unprecedented access to global leaders in the field. For many attendees, Life Fest marks the first time they had the opportunity to meet another GIST patient or caregiver. Each year brings a wealth of new information, and patients are eager to hear about the latest advancements in GIST.

GIST Awareness Day

This annual international event gives us the opportunity to recognize those impacted with GIST, sarcoma or any type of cancer and stand together in support and solidarity to raise awareness about GIST.

GIST Day of Learning

GDOLs are smaller group events held throughout the year in cities nationwide. These events focus on helping patients and caregivers learn more about this rare form of cancer, find support, and enhance their knowledge base to help them navigate their cancer journey. Participants also have the unique opportunity to meet with medical experts in the field and to network with their peers.

Night To Fight Cancer

Night to Fight Cancer was started in 2003 by Jerry Cudzil, LRG’s board president, as a new and exciting fundraising effort to support the organization’s many efforts.
