The Life Raft Group (LRG) is currently seeking to fill an Associate Development Manager position. Candidate must have a great personality, be comfortable interacting with patients undergoing cancer treatment and their caregivers, and one to three years office experience. Primary responsibilities of this entry level manager include assisting with cultivating and engaging donors, identifying and soliciting corporate sponsors for events, managing fundraising event logistics, working with volunteers and assisting with fundraising appeals and donor acknowledgement program. This is a hybrid position located in Wayne, NJ. LRG is a small nonprofit providing support through information, education, and innovative research to patients around the world with a rare cancer called GIST. 

Associate Development Manager

Full-time – Hybrid (3 days remote/2 days in office)

Reports to the Chief Development & Involvement Officer. Responsible for but not limited to the following:

  1. Assist with cultivating and engaging donors, and help staff with their donor solicitations (e.g., research donors, schedule meetings, and coordinate donor communications)
  2. Identify and solicit new corporate sponsors for various fundraising events and educational programs
  3. Responsible for the logistics of various events, onsite event management, and shipment of materials and products to the events
  4. Engage and manage various volunteers
  5. Assist with fundraising appeals and donor acknowledgement program

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One to three years office experience
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in fundraising, and developing relationships and engaging a community to support a cause
  • Knowledge of Donor Perfect or similar donor platform is a plus but will train
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable interacting with patients, who are undergoing cancer treatment, and their caregivers
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeve to assist with team projects such as mailings, data entry, etc.
  • Availability to work and travel outside of regular business hours for some events throughout the year
  • Willing to accept direction but also be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to use a proactive approach to solve problems
  • Detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication and organizational skills
