Our first ever GIST DO IT Walk took place on the morning of July 15, 2018 at Margaret Pace Park in Miami, Florida. Patients, caregivers, doctors, friends, families, and virtual participants walked to raise funds for research to find a cure for GIST.
Thank you to everyone who participated in GIST DO IT. Your passion is inspiring! It is moving to be surrounded by a community affected by GIST, which brings hope, comfort, and a feeling of togetherness.
We were humbled to have had the opportunity to present the well-deserved “Top Fundraiser” award to Ted Wolf. GIST DO IT was a huge success and a great ending to Life Fest 2018. We are pleased to split the funds with Sylvester Cancer Center to help make strides in GIST research.
This is just the first of many GIST DO IT walks to come. We are hoping to get as many participants as possible at our next walk to raise awareness and funds for this rare disease.
