The LRG is collaborating with the Biden Cancer Initiative to promote the Biden Cancer Community Summit which will be held on September 21st, 2018, in Washington, D.C.

Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden are hosting the Summit to focus on a cancer patient’s journey; prevention through a cancer diagnosis, treatment through survivorship, and determine what must be done to accelerate progress.

The Biden Cancer Initiative builds on the foundation laid by the Cancer Moonshot Task Force and is grounded on Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden’s firm commitment to ending cancer as we know it.

Though the Summit will be held in Washington, your involvement locally is critical. You can get involved by hosting an event right in your own community. By gathering for candid discussions, we can communicate to the Biden Cancer Initiative specific issues that are critical in our personal journeys as patients and caregivers.

A toolkit for putting together such an event is available at the Biden Cancer Initiative website or in pdf form here. You can also contact Laura Occhuizzi, for information on local GIST-specific gatherings we currently have information about and resources.
