McGhee A. Ellis, 86, Crystal River, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, in Inverness.

Born Dec. 5, 1921, in Cave Springs, Ga., to John and Estella (McGhee) Ellis, he moved to Florida from Sudbury, Mass., in 1988.

Mr. Ellis was a Navy veteran of World War II and worked as an electrical engineer for most of his life. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League, Greenwood Club, Raytheon Management Club, New England Orienteering Association and Florida Orienteering Association.

Survivors include his wife, L. Rose Strother Ellis of Crystal River; two daughters, Rosemary Ellis of Lowell, Mass., and Beth Poulo and husband Louis of Andover, Mass.; sister, Charlene Thach of Hixson, Tenn.; brother, William Ellis of Florida; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Poulo of Andover, Mass., and David McGhee Poulo of Waltham, Mass.
