Robert David McCormick – In Memoriam

Robert David McCormick, 69, formerly of Jacksonville, FL, died at home in Marianna, FL on December 27. Mr. McCormick was a long-time resident of Marianna, FL, a deacon and member of First Baptist Church where he was active in the music program, having served as director for the handbell choir, was Interim Minister Music for two terms and supply organist for many years.

Michael Shorb, California poet

Michael Shorb, dearly beloved husband of Judith Grogan-Shorb, passed away on August 8, 2012, from a very rare cancer. Born October 29, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert Shorb and Helen Thisted Shorb; brother to the late Beverly Gonzales and Paul Shorb. His other brothers and sisters: Jan Jupp, Myrna Todd, Keith Shorb, Nadine Morris, Bill Shorb and Glen Shorb. Michael was a poet and was published in over 100 poetry magazines and poetry anthologies.

Spunky Texan fought GIST bravely

Betty Hayes Arnett went to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at age 64, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 23, 1947 to Ruel and Mattie Hayes in Corsicana, Calif. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and wife. She was a longtime member of Missionary Baptist Church of Corsicana.
